Sweet and Delightful Sex in a Pan with Oreo Cookies

1. Sex in a Pan

Don’t worry! Despite the x-rated name, this dessert is 100% church potluck- and family-friendly.

You’ll just have to tell people it’s called something else.

It gets its name because eating it is a mind-blowing, life-altering, totally decadent experience.

Layers of silky-smooth chocolate and vanilla pudding mixed with cream cheese layers, a buttery crust, and a whipped cream topping. YUM!

Homemade Caramel Corn in a Bowl

2. Easy Homemade Caramel Corn

You may have made caramel in the past and wondered how that thick sauce could cover popcorn without making a mess.

The trick is using baking soda toward the end of cooking.

The caramel will bubble up as it aerates, making it easier to mix through the popcorn. Spread the popcorn on a lined cookie tray to cool, and voila!

Instant yumminess.

Peach Cobbler with Ice Cream

3. Cake Mix Peach Cobbler

If you’ve ever made peach cobbler, you know it can be time-consuming. It doesn’t have to be, though!

Save yourself some time (and several steps) by making your peach cobbler with a boxed cake mix instead of from scratch.

You’ll get the same great taste and texture with only a fraction of the work.

Homemade Chocolate Icebox Cookies

4. Icebox Cookies

Be sure always to have this cookie dough in the freezer. It’s ideal for those late-night cravings!

These  icebox cookies  are super easy, using pantry staples you surely have at home already.

Just bake the cookies you need, roll the rest of the dough, and freeze for up to 3 months.

When the mood strikes, pull out the dough, slice a few rounds, and bake in a cookie tray.

Reese’s Peanut Butter Trifle Recipe

5. Reese’s Peanut Butter Trifle Recipe

With layers of fruit, custard, sponge, and jelly, trifle might not come to mind when thinking of easy desserts.

Think again! This recipe is super impressive, delicious, and requires minimal ingredients.

You can pretend it took you hours to make. 😉

Cake Mix Cookie Bars filled with chocolate chips

6. Cake Mix Cookie Bars

Using cake mix as a shortcut is my favorite little cheat, even when I’m not in a rush.

It contains everything you need anyway and makes for super moist  cookie bars .

They’re ideal for a mid-week snack, served warm after dinner with ice cream, or just when you need dessert in a pinch.

From start to finish, they take less than 30 minutes!

Homemade popsicles of Dark Chocolate Banana Pops

7. Dark Chocolate Banana Pops

Calling for just four ingredients, these  homemade popsicles  are an easy dessert you can make at any time.

Each one features a naturally sweet frozen banana covered in dark chocolate and dipped in pecans and sprinkles.

They look great and taste even better.

Bowl of Apple Crisp with Ice Cream and Caramel Syrup

8. Apple Brown Betty

This recipe is like apple crisp. The main difference is the lack of oats in the topping. Once baked, it’s more like a spiced shortbread crumb.

It might seem a little involved, but it’s pretty straightforward. You can make the topping with a pastry cutter or butter knife.

You need not worry about lumps. They’ll melt into the apples during the bake.

Easy Homemade Fudgesicles with dark chocolate

9. Easy Homemade Fudgesicles

I should warn you that this is dangerous. Dangerously addictive, that is!

You’ll be making what is basically a pudding, though there are no tempering eggs to worry about!

Just mix everything in a pot and stir until thick. The worst part is waiting for them to cool!

Close up view of a slice of Lemon Icebox Cake on a saucer

10. Lemon Icebox Cake

This super simple  icebox cake  comprises layers of Lorna Doone cookies and lemon pudding.

You’ll lighten the pudding with Cool Whip, making it creamy and easier to spread.

After a few hours in the fridge, the cookies will just about start softening so you can slice and serve.

Soft and Chewy Peanut Butter Cookies

11. Peanut Butter Cookies

When it comes to easy dessert recipes, you can’t go wrong with homemade cookies. Especially homemade cookies that require only three ingredients!

That’s all you’ll need to make these buttery soft peanut butter cookies. Just three ingredients, specifically butter, peanut butter, and sugar.

If your mom ever made homemade peanut butter cookies, she probably used this recipe.

Lemon Drop Cookies with Lemon Glaze

12. Lemon Drop Cookies

These shortbread-style cookies are melt-in-your-mouth good.

They’re easy to make, too. Simply beat the ingredients until well blended, careful not to overwork the batter.

If you like yours with a crunch, bake for 11 minutes until the edges start to turn brown.

For a shorter crumb, remove them before the edges start to color – around 9 minutes, depending on your oven.

Slice loaf of Cake Mix Banana Bread

13. Cake Mix Banana Bread

Spoiler alert:  This isn’t the last recipe on this list that uses cake mix to save time. Hey! I told you it’s my favorite baking cheat!

Close up view of stacks of Simple Oatmeal Cookie Jam Bars

14. Simple Oatmeal Cookie Jam Bars

I make this recipe at least once a month. In fact, I’m eating a shortbread and raspberry jam bar with my coffee as I type!

The crumb mix combines brown sugar, oats, and flour. Press the base into a firm bottom, reserving the rest to sprinkle over the jam.

I love the flavor of blackberry jam here. It mixes so well with the caramel-flavored oat crust.

Sweet Buckeye Brownies with Peanut Butter and Decadent Chocolate

15. Buckeye Brownies

If you love buckeyes (or Reese’s Cups), you’ll go nuts for these thick, fudgy buckeye brownies.

They’re full of rich peanut butter and chocolate flavor with a soft, chewy brownie underneath. They are — dare I say it — pure decadence in a pan.

Sweet Frozen Lemon Yogurt

Just blend vanilla ice cream with frozen pineapple and pineapple juice until smooth. Yup, that’s it!

Just scoop and serve.

Cherry-Chocolate Pudgy Pie with cherry pie filling, almonds and chocolate chips

17. Cherry-Chocolate Pudgy Pie

Sometimes, dessert can be as simple as a grilled sandwich. Have you ever tried an Elvis Sandwich? It’s to die for!

This version of a sweet grilled sandwich uses canned fruit filling, chopped almonds, and chocolate chips.

This recipe uses a cherry filling, but you could use your favorite. I think blueberry would be amazing.

Sweet Microwave Peanut Brittle

18. Microwave Peanut Brittle

You read that right. You can make peanut brittle in the microwave!

No need for any fancy equipment or candy thermometers here. Just make sure you have your oven mitts handy – the bowl gets very hot.

When pouring, make sure you have your tray prepared beforehand and spread it thin.

Are you ever sitting home alone when an intense craving for sweets suddenly attacks? Happens to me all the time!

Slices of Homemade Peanut Butter Tart Pie

20. No-Bake Peanut Butter Pie

Everything else gets blended and poured into the crust before freezing for a few hours. Make it extra decadent with vanilla ice cream.

Bunch of homemade Chocolate Dipped Oreos

21. Chocolate Dipped Oreos

We all have a box of Oreos in the pantry, plus some random chocolate tucked away.

You could even make a sweet plate using golden Oreos and white chocolate chips.

Homemade Smores Oreo

22. Oreo S’mores in the Oven

Because S’mores aren’t just for the summer anymore!

If you have Oreos, marshmallows, chocolate, and 5 minutes, you’ll have a lightning-fast, easy dessert for the family.

Line a cookie tray and place a marshmallow on half of each Oreo. Broil until it starts to color, around 30 seconds.

Add the lid and enjoy!

2 Ingredient Dark Chocolate Truffles with rosemary and cranberries on the side

23. 2 Ingredient Dark Chocolate Truffles

No, you aren’t losing your mind (or your vision!) That really does say two-ingredient truffles. Because two ingredients are all you’ll need.

These truffles are a mix of indulgent dark chocolate and heavy whipping cream. They look elegant, taste fantastic, and are borderline addictive.

Fortunately, they’re super easy to make, so you can easily feed your new addiction.

Chocolate Cornstarch Pudding with Whipped Cream

24. Chocolate Pudding

Puddings are another go-to when I need a quick and easy dessert recipe.

The boxed kinds are super convenient. But homemade puddings are surprisingly simple, too.

For this chocolate pudding, you’ll need seven ingredients and about 30 minutes. It’s just as simple to make as the boxed kind but tastes SO much better.

The silky smooth texture is nicer, too.

Mississippi Mud Pie with a slice taken out of it.

25. Mississippi Mud Pie

The layer of dark chocolate on top balances out the light coconut for a fabulous no-bake bar that is vegan and gluten-free.

Coconut Macaroons

27. Coconut Macaroons

Though uncomplicated, these can be pretty sticky. After all, you’ll be mixing coconut, vanilla, and condensed milk.

When the mix is ready, try spooning it into these  wafer papers . They’re designed explicitly for sticky doughs and don’t taste like anything.

Homemade Apple Dumplings

28. Easy Apple Dumplings

Crescent rolls have to be one of the most versatile staples you can have in your pantry.

Used for pizza, rolls, dumplings, and more, they work for savory and sweet alike.

Just wrap some apple slices in the crescent rolls and cover them with brown sugar syrup.

Serve with whipped cream or ice cream on top and enjoy.

Sprinkle the candy with a pinch of sea salt and let it cool completely before cutting!

Chocolate Lava Mug Cake for Dessert

32. Chocolate Lava Mug Cake

Mug cakes can be hit or miss, but the trick is to be careful when cooking. Microwaves are different, so 60 seconds in mine might be too much in yours.

I like to cook mine for 60 seconds and check on it. Then, I’ll do 10-second intervals until it’s ready.

Top it with your favorite toppings to finish it off.

Strawberry Shortcake

33. Bisquick Strawberry Shortcake

Strawberry shortcakes are the ultimate easy dessert recipes, whether you make them with Bisquick or something else.

50 Easy Desserts to Make at Home

50 Easy Desserts to Make at Home

Looking for easy desserts that come together quickly? These layered magic bars require only six ingredients and aren’t difficult to make at all!

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled

1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs (about 11-12 full sheets)

1 (14-ounce) can EAGLE BRAND® Sweetened Condensed Milk

2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

1 cup chopped nuts

1 1/3 cups flaked coconut

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. (325 degrees if the baking dish is glass) Prepare a 13 x 9-inch baking dish by lining it with parchment paper and greasing it with oil or butter.
  • Place the butter in a medium-sized, microwave-safe mixing bowl. Melt it in 30-second intervals in the microwave on high heat.
  • Once the bowl is cool enough to handle, remove it from the microwave. Mix the crushed graham cracker crumbs with the butter. Mix well until the crumbs are evenly coated. This mixture will act as the crust.
  • Press the crust into the prepared baking dish. If necessary, smooth the top with a clean glass measuring cup.
  • Slowly pour the condensed milk over the crust. Spread it evenly with a spatula to cover the entire surface.
  • Generously sprinkle the chocolate chips on top of the condensed milk. Then, add the nuts and flaked coconut. Press the topping ingredients flat with a fork to pack them down.
  • Bake for 25 minutes in the preheated oven. The coconut will become crispy and golden when the dessert is ready.
  • Remove the baking dish from the oven and allow the dessert to cool completely. Then, slice into bars, serve, and enjoy!
  • Use sweetened coconut for a sweeter dessert. Use unsweetened coconut if you don’t want the bars overly sweet.
  • Remember to add the coconut last so that it will crisp up like it’s supposed to.

Easy Desserts for People Who Say They Can’t Bake

Easy Fruit Pizza

Want tips to make these easy dessert recipes  even easier ? Then you have come to the right place.

For bars: When making dessert bars in a 13x9-inch pan, or even a square pan, line the pan with aluminum foil. Leave some extra foil hanging over the sides to act as handles. When your bars come out of the oven and have cooled, simply grab the foil handles and lift the bars out of the pan and place onto a cutting board. This makes the bars easy to slice into perfect, even squares while also limiting the amount of cleanup you’ll have to do later.

For cookies: When baking cookies in the oven, make sure you have multiple baking sheets on hand. Cookies continue to bake on a hot baking sheet after you take them out of the oven, and a hot baking sheet could accelerate the baking of fresh dough, so to ensure even baking of multiple batches, you’ll want to have a cool sheet handy. We’d recommend having three cookie sheets at the ready so you can bake one pan while you prepare another and cool a third. Overall, this will help speed up your baking process when making a lot of cookies for a crowd.

73 Easy Dessert Recipes for When You Don't Want a Project

We love making a weekend project out of an elaborate cake or pastry, but having a few easy dessert recipes ready to fire is crucial for those moments when we get a sudden sugar craving or we want to end dinner on a sweet-and-simple note. For situations like these, we turn to something semi-homemade or otherwise no-fuss: Ice cream made in a resealable plastic bag , one big deliciously gooey chocolate chip cookie baked in a skillet, or pastries that make the most out of our favorite freezer staple (spoiler: It’s frozen puff pastry ).

In this collection of easy dessert recipes, we’re asking the important questions. Why fuss over flaky pastry when you can make a press-in cookie crust in a fraction of the time? Why use more than one bowl to mix cake batter? Why churn ice cream from scratch when you could make calm, cool, collected semifreddo? Scroll on for your new favorite quick, easy, and delicious desserts.

Ice pops are lovable because there’s so much payoff for so little fuss. These strawberry pops have two twists, though: balsamic vinegar and black pepper. (They work; promise.)

Raspberry sundaes with chocolate sauce and roasted almonds.

Raspberry Sundaes With Chocolate Sauce and Roasted Almonds

The only thing you really make for this simple dessert is the chocolate sauce. Otherwise, it’s just scooping and assembling.

Raspberry and Aperol floats in tall glasses with red and white straws.

Raspberry and Aperol Floats

24 Easy, Fast Desserts to Try Now

Creamy and cloud-like, buttery and rich, or gooey and chocolatey, these recipes make dessert magic happen in an hour or less — coming together with simplicity and ease for sweet, stress-free endings to any meal. Some rely almost exclusively on pantry staples, like fragrant, fluffy vanilla cupcakes and pecan-topped bananas foster , while others require seasonal fruit or a container of your favorite ice cream (or both), such as roasted peach cobbler with balsamic syrup . Turn to these delectable confections to satisfy your sweet tooth without sacrificing taste for time.

Vanilla Cupcakes

Matt Taylor-Gross / Food Styling by Debbie Wee

These vanilla cupcakes are the answer to any birthday party, picnic, potluck, or event that deserves a little treat. What sets these cupcakes apart is the rich vanilla flavor. Don't skimp on the quality of the vanilla extract you use here; the simplest recipes require the highest quality ingredients.

Air Fryer Brownies

With the help of an air fryer, these gooey, fudgy brownies — baked in ramekins and reminiscent of a molten chocolate cake — are less than an hour away. Serve them on their own, or with your favorite ice cream. Better yet, top them with berries, whipped cream, chopped nuts, or caramel sauce to make a brownie sundae.

Mixed Berry Cornmeal Biscuit Shortcakes

For these shortcakes, macerated fresh berries and homemade whipped cream — flavored with vanilla and lemon zest — are served atop a buttery, tender split cornmeal biscuit for a summery dessert. Stacking and patting down the dough as opposed to kneading helps you avoid overworking it and encourages even lamination. Cornmeal provides great texture and flavor.

Bananas Foster

Victor Protasio / Food Styling by Torie Cox / Prop Styling by Josh Hoggle

These bananas cooked with a citrusy brown sugar-rum sauce and topped with crispy pecans are so good, we eat this dessert straight from the pan. With ice cream, of course.

Candied Almond Affogato

This Italian dessert is simplicity at its finest — all you need to make it is a scoop or two of gelato and a shot of hot espresso. Here, we've added almond liqueur to the mix for a little extra flair, plus candied almonds and crushed amaretti cookies for some crunch. The elegant treat comes together in just a few minutes, making it an easy and impressive option for entertaining.

Shortbread Cookies

A classic treat in Scotland and beloved all over for buttery flavor and a crumbly texture, shortbread cookies are an ideal treat with afternoon tea or for dessert with ice cream, fruit, or chocolate.

Almost-Instant Soft-Serve

© Greg DuPree

In 2018, Food & Wine named this recipe one of our 40 best. The creamy, sherbet-style dessert is one for the ages: It uses just four ingredients and comes together with a quick whirl of the food processor. Make it with strawberries, mangoes, or blueberries.

Giant Chocolate Cookie with Cacao Nibs and Flaky Salt

The only thing better than a dark cocoa cookie with a hint of chewiness and a generous sprinkle of flaky salt is an impressively oversized one that’s designed to feed a crowd. Cut into wedges, the cookies resemble chocolate shortbread, but these treats — studded with chopped bittersweet chocolate and cacao nibs — are far more indulgent.

Mini Black-Bottom Cheesecakes

In these single-serving desserts, rich and creamy cheesecake is baked atop a chocolate wafer base. You don't need any special equipment to make them — just a muffin tin and foil liners.

Molten Chocolate Cake with Raspberry Filling

More decadent than molten chocolate cake: one filled with warm raspberry, reveals former F&W editor Grace Parisi.

Vanilla Ice Cream Bread Pudding with Whiskey Caramel

© John Kernick

Ice cream maven Jeni Britton makes this genius bread pudding with store-bought brioche and melted vanilla ice cream, eliminating the need to make a custard. The simple whiskey-tinged caramel sauce comes together with just four ingredients.

Cherries Poached in Red Wine with Mascarpone Cream

The classic combination of fruit and cheese is an age-old pairing that will always be delicious. Thick mascarpone cheese mixed with honey makes a luscious topping for poached summer cherries. You can serve the dessert either warm or cold. We love it both ways.

Citrus Gratin with Toasted Almonds

This warm citrus dessert is an updated version of the old-fashioned half grapefruit broiled with brown sugar. A scattering of sweet and crunchy almonds on top dresses up the fruit with a lovely contrast.

Mixed Berry Dutch Baby

© Hallie Burton

A Dutch baby always makes for a stunning presentation — and it's easier than making pancakes since you cook it up all at once. For a dessert that fits right in at the breakfast table and as a seasonal after-dinner treat, you only need a handful of simple ingredients. Serve warm with scoops of good vanilla ice cream and a dusting of powdered sugar.

Over-the-Top Ice Cream Sundaes with Homemade Caramel

Fully loaded with creamy fudge, salty pretzels, crunchy toffee, and chewy, bittersweet candied lemon peel, this over-the-top sundae gets drenched in homemade caramel sauce for a grown-up take on a nostalgic childhood treat served at chef Dan Kluger's Loring Place in New York City.

Roasted Peach Cobbler with Vanilla Ice Cream and Balsamic Syrup

© Fredrika Stjärne

"I'm no pastry chef, but I bake a killer cobbler," says chef and TV host Andrew Zimmern. He tops this roasted peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream and thick, rich aged balsamic syrup for a summer-ready dessert, each baked individually in an eight-ounce ramekin.

Zabaglione with Strawberries

An Italian dessert made with egg yolks, sugar, and sweet wine, zabaglione can be served hot when it's just made. If you want to prepare the dish ahead of time, mix the zabaglione with whipped cream and refrigerate it as described in the first variation.

Rio-Style Ginger Beer Floats

Chef Eric Ripert's sweet, fizzy drink, made with orange juice, passion fruit, and mango sorbet, is his Brazilian take on a typical American root beer float.

Blackberry Fool with Calvados

A classic British dessert of pureed fruit folded into whipped cream, a fool is one of the first things designer Peter Ting learned to make after moving to England in 1976. To give this one a little extra sophistication, he macerates half the blackberries overnight in Calvados, then tops the fruit with dollops of whipped cream he's mixed with blackberry puree.

Espresso Granita with Whipped Cream

Top the granita with a hefty portion of whipped cream; you'll need the mild sweetness of the cream to balance the strong espresso.

Miracle Peanut Butter Crunch

This flaky candy combines layers of crisp caramel, creamy peanut butter, and crunchy peanuts. Incredibly, it takes just 20 minutes to make and the only special equipment you need is a heatproof candy thermometer. Be sure to buy the freshest, highest-quality peanut butter and peanuts you can find.

Swirled Summer Berry Soufflés

Celebrity cook Annabel Langbein's luscious soufflé is made with a swirl of berries and marshmallowy meringue.

Rich Baked Chocolate Puddings

Although this deep, dark chocolate pudding is easily made in ramekins, it's fun to bake and serve in small glass jars — and they're ready in 40 minutes.

No-Bake Chocolate Custard

Our absolute favorite thing about this easy, no-bake chocolate custard is that it takes just 20 minutes to make and can be eaten right away at room temperature. This super-silky, chocolatey dessert is also delicious when chilled. It just depends on how long you can wait before you devour it.

15 Fancy-Looking Desserts That Are Secretly Easy to Make

Taylor Tobin is a freelance lifestyle journalist based in Austin, Texas. Her work primarily focuses on food and beverage recipes and recommendations.

desserts easy

In this Age of Instagram, desserts with stunning visual appeal are a popular pursuit for home cooks looking for a delicious challenge. Unfortunately, those photogenic treats can prove time-consuming and difficult. That's why dessert recipes that deliver top-notch flavors and plenty of wow factor while still being easy to execute deserve a prominent place in your collection. We've rounded up 15 dessert recipes that combine great flavor, lots of stage presence, and simple instructions complete with shortcuts. Scroll through to find easy-to-make eye candy like bite-size cheesecakes, no-cook chocolate mousse, chocolate-dipped strawberries, and more

Cinnamon Palmiers

Ready-made sheets of puff pastry are spread with a mixture of butter, sugar, cinnamon, and cardamom, then rolled, sliced, and baked to make these easy but impressive pastries. "So simple, and they look like you picked them up at the bakery," says Jeri. MissMichele26 adds, "Super simple. I put the entire fold back in fridge for 15-30 minutes before cutting, made it a lot easier."

No-Bake Chocolate Eclair Cake

This rich and decadent dessert doesn't require any baking, and it also makes use of accessible ingredients like instant pudding mix, frozen whipped topping, and storebought graham crackers. The easy chocolate glaze topping adds an extra air of sophistication to this foolproof dessert.

Mini Cheesecakes I

These chic little cheesecakes include pre-made pie filling and a crust made with packaged vanilla wafers, resulting in individually-sized desserts that are highly customizable. Reviewers give them a solid 5-star rating, and change up the toppings to create different variations.

The Best Banana Pudding

In spite of its rustic reputation, banana pudding can often prove more complicated than home cooks assume. Luckily, this recipe, which features instant pudding, storebought vanilla wafers, and frozen whipped topping, comes together easily, with attractive and tasty results.

Easy Decadent Truffles

With semisweet chocolate shells and sweet-and-tangy cream cheese fillings, these truffles can be easily shaped into balls with a small cookie scoop. Once dipped and shaped, they're ready to roll in your topping of choice (chocolate chips, sprinkles, nuts, and so on) and be placed in the fridge to solidify.

Lemon Blueberry Pavlova

"My favorite way to enjoy lemon meringue is with pavlova. The meringue base cools and dries out slowly, creating a crispy, crunchy crust on the outside which contrasts beautifully with a soft, sticky center. Topped with an intense lemon curd filling, fresh blueberries, and a homemade blueberry sauce, this dessert takes a little bit of time to make but is also simple and easy to pull off," says recipe creator Chef John. Reviewer Sue Moss adds, "Delicious and easier than it looks. It tastes like what lemon meringue pie wishes it could." To save a little time and effort, you could use ready-made lemon curd instead of making it from scratch.

Chocolate Mousse with Cocoa Powder

In a speedy 20 minutes you can whip up (literally) this impressive looking chocolate mousse. "No cooking involved, and it just doesn't get much easier than this for an elegant dessert," says recipe creator lutzflcat. "I like to pipe the mousse into small shooter glasses for a lovely presentation. Everybody has room for a mini dessert! Chilling the bowl and beaters will result in a better whipped cream."

Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Fancy-looking chocolate-dipped strawberries are much easier to make than you might think — as well as much cheaper — but you do have to keep one key step in mind: Pat dry your strawberries so that absolutely no water touches the melted chocolate .

  • How to Make Chocolate-Covered Strawberries

Simple Crème Brulée Dessert

"This crème brûlée was super fast and easy and turned out to be so good without double broiling or straining!" says reviewer Casablancaise of this 5-ingredient spin on a classic French dessert.

Pineapple Upside-Down Cake V

Two shortcut ingredients — yellow cake mix and canned pineapple — make this crowd-pleasing cake extra easy to assemble. Home cooks have baked this top-rated cake in a 9x13 pan, round cake pans, and even in a Bundt pan.

Lemon Curd Tarts

"These lemon curd tarts are a staple dessert at my tea parties. I can make them quickly without even measuring the ingredients using a pastry bag to fill the small shells. The crust remains crunchy for several hours, so I make them early the morning of the tea and then refrigerate them. I also serve these at wedding and baby showers. For variation, you can place ¼ teaspoon raspberry spread underneath the lemon curd and garnish with a fresh raspberry, omitting the cinnamon. Another variation is to use lime curd instead of lemon, both of which can be found in the baking aisle of the grocery store." — Paula

Grandma's Iron Skillet Apple Pie

Everyone's going to ooh and aah when you bring this multi-layered apple pie to the table, cast iron skillet and all. Fresh apples are tossed with cinnamon sugar and layered between ready-made pie crusts before baking to a golden brown. "This is such an outstanding recipe, thanks so much to the cook who shared it. Over the past 45 years I have probably made hundreds of apple pies but this one is just a treat! I made it as written. The process and the iron skillet is the key to the finished product being so good," says reviewer Grandma Lizzy

Death By Chocolate III

You'll need only four ingredients to make this showstopping 5-star dessert with layers upon layers of decadent chocolaty goodness. "Every time we have a church supper, I have to make this. It's a favorite," says recipe creator LaNita.

Hasselback Pear Tart

This stunning dessert is simply thinly sliced pears baked on a bed of sweetened cream cheese in a frozen puff pastry base, but it's how the pears are sliced that gives it that wow factor. The technique is borrowed from prepping Hasselback potatoes (the tart recipe tells you exactly how to do it), and you'll need a sharp knife to get all the slices uniformly thin for the best presentation. The finished tart is well worth that little bit of effort; the rest is an absolute breeze.

Strawberry Torte

Lined with ladyfingers, filled with a creamy mousse, and coated in sweet strawberry sauce, this "torte" feels and tastes very elegant. However, the recipe calls for store-bought ladyfingers and pre-sliced frozen strawberries, which cuts down on the prep time without compromising on flavor. Home cook Yoon Lim fancied up the presentation even more by tying a ribbon around the lady fingers and dotting the finished torte with fresh strawberries and whipped cream rosettes topped with mini chocolate chips, as shown.

Joy Bauer makes 3 superfood-packed desserts to satisfy your sweet tooth

Indulge in a trio of treats with these mouthwatering recipes that promise to elevate your dessert game in unexpected ways. Packed with wholesome ingredients, these desserts offer healthier twists without compromising on flavor and sweet satisfaction.

First up, you won’t be able to resist the luxurious allure of my sweet potato crème brûlée, a creamy and caramelized gem that adds a touch of sophistication to your sweet repertoire. Next, my three-ingredient berry cobbler is as easy to make as it is delicious to eat. Lastly, treat yourself to the dreamy combination of juicy clementines dipped in rich, velvety chocolate, delivering a burst of sweet citrusy goodness. Each recipe is palate-pleasing perfection — I hope you savor every scrumptious bite.

Sweet Potato Crème Brûlée

Superfood Desserts

Prepare to experience pure indulgence with this sweet potato crème brûlée, where a caramelized crackable topping gives way to a luxurious, custard-like filling infused with the subtly sweet taste of roasted sweet potato. Is your mouth watering yet? This decadent dessert boasts a creamy center that’s delicious on its own, but it’s the finishing sprinkle of coconut sugar on top that truly elevates the eating experience. As the sugar caramelizes under the broiler, it crystallizes to form a snappy crust that crackles with each spoonful, adding an irresistible contrast of textures and a burst of sweet, delicious flavor. It’s a unique way to reap the health perks of our favorite orange spud!

3-Ingredient Berry Cobbler

Superfood Desserts

With just three simple ingredients — fresh or frozen berries, vanilla cake mix and berry-flavored sparkling water — this cobbler recipe is your secret weapon for a sweet and satisfying treat. What sets it apart is not only its simplicity but also the fact that it contains a fraction of the sugar compared to traditional cobblers, making it a healthier indulgence. The end result is warm and luscious fruit gently blended with scrumptious, moist cake. It’s gently sweet and incredibly satisfying. Spoon it into ramekins or small bowls, and for an extra touch of lavishness, garnish with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of ice cream. Leftovers will keep in the fridge for up to three days, and while you can warm it up in the microwave, it’s actually just as delicious cold.

Chocolate Clementines

Superfood Desserts

Introducing my chocolate-dipped clementines! But before we indulge, let’s delve into what sets clementines apart. These petite citrus wonders are a specific variety of mandarin oranges cherished for their vibrant flavor and effortless peeling. Unlike their larger Mandarin counterparts, clementines are compact, making them ideal for on-the-go snacking. They are sweet, (typically) seedless, and filled with vitamin C. This recipe takes mini oranges to a whole new level of deliciousness because, well, that’s what chocolate does to just about everything. This treat is simple, scrumptious and sure to spark joy in every juicy bite.

  • 2 clementines, peeled and segmented
  • 3/4 cup chocolate chips, melted
  • optional sea salt

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Dip 1/3 to 1/2 a clementine segment in melted chocolate. Sprinkle with optional sea salt and refrigerate for 15 minutes, or until chocolate has hardened.
